I am a 47 year old woman who suffers from severe IBS and diverticulosis, (I have had 3 bouts of diverticulitis. I am healing from one now). My problem is since this all started I now suffer from anxiety. I am so afraid every time I get even 1 twinge, I wish I knew how to relax and not get stressed out from this but I don't have a clue how to. I don't like to go to far away from home because I feel more comfortable in my own house..if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate any input.. Thanks

Dear Loribin, I'm 48 had IBS for over 25 years - and I have got rid of it. It took me a year but I am free. There is hope. So hang on in there. You may find that the anxiety you are feeling is all wrapped up with the wonderful perimenopause experience. It can be very troubling. I had bouts of anxiety and panic attacks. What helped me was clary sage essential oil to balance the hormones as much as I could, a liver detox (because if the liver is clogged up it doesn't get rid of the excess hormones from the body effectively) and a free mindfulness app which I would do every day. You may find my blog SickofIBS.com of some use to you for your other IBS challenges. Best, Alison
