October 2019 #DDHChat Recap: Nutritional Support for People Living with an Ostomy

Each year thousands of people of all ages undergo ostomy surgery. One reason someone might have an ostomy surgery could be due to complications of other digestie diseases such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis. However, the reason that someone might have ostomy surgery varies from perosn to person.

In recognition of Ostomy Awareness Day being on October 5th, dietitian Therezia Alchoufete, MS, RD, LDN of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center joined us and United Ostomy Association of America (UOAA) on Wednesday, October 2nd to discuss "Nutritional Support for People Living with an Ostomy."
