First Annual DHA Walk by the Bay
Taking Steps Toward a Cure (Lynn Haven, FL)
My name is Reneé. I want to thank the many people who joined me at the First Annual DHA Walk by the Bay 5k Walk-A-Thon on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at A.L. Kinsual Park in Lynn Haven, FL to raise money for the Digestive Health Alliance (DHA).
Thanks to all those who supported the event. Walkers had the option to collect pledges in support of their walk, and prizes were awarded to the individual who raised the most funds for research. Festivities continued throughout the morning with live music and entertainment concluding around 11:30AM.
Why Support the Walk
Functional Gastrointestinal and Motility Disorders (FGIMDs) can be chronic, debilitating, and sometimes fatal. I purposely hosted the First Annual Walk by the Bay in April to honor IBS & Lower GI Conditions Action Month. My goal is to further research and improve treatment options for those suffering from painful and disabling digestive disorders.
Every dollar we raise and step we take will collectively help to better the lives of others who are struggling with FGIMDs – and over 90 cents of every dollar raised will be directly applied to advancing medical research through the DHA Peer-Reviewed Research Grants and Awards Program. Together we can end the suffering caused by digestive disorders. Join us!
About me (Reneé)
Digestive health is an important issue to me. Over the past few years I have been working with the DHA to improve life for affected individuals.
Last spring I joined the DHA in Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., in an effort to increase federal funding for FGIMD research. This was an amazing experience, and now it is time to step up and do more. We still need your help and participation to ensure that The First Annual DHA Walk by the Bay in support of the DHA continues to be a success. Support our efforts to fund research and increase treatment options by donating below.
